Resolution of the Police Association of Ontario

June 1, 2024

Whereas the Police Association of Ontario is a sponsor of the OMERS Pension Plan

And whereas the OMERS Sponsorship Corporation is responsible for setting contribution rates for members in the plan

And whereas the OMERS Administration Corporation provides information to the Sponsors Corporation to assist them in their deliberations

And whereas the Police Association of Ontario was recently informed of a plan by the Sponsors Corporation to increase contribution rates on almost all of its members

And whereas the Police Association of Ontario was not meaningfully consulted about the circumstances leading to the decision and has not had an opportunity to inquire as to other options to address any identified issues with the current contribution rate

Be it therefore resolved
That the Police Association of Ontario  inform OMERS AC and SC we are opposed to their proposed contribution rate increase and any decision on this should be delayed until a full consultation has been conducted
