I am writing to formally recognize and honor Sergeant Sylvain Ladouceur, my husband, for 30 years of distinguished and dedicated service with the Ontario Provincial Police.
For three decades, Sylvain has been a steady presence within his detachment and the community he proudly serves. While many see the uniform and the badge, those who work alongside him know he is truly the “unsung hero” behind the scenes. As a Constable and a Sergeant, his colleagues would attest that throughout his career he has consistently demonstrated exemplary professionalism, leadership, integrity and courage.
Over the past 30 years, Sylvain has upheld the highest standards of conduct, a testament not only to his character, but to his deep respect for the responsibility entrusted to him. He has never wavered his dedication to serving the public with honour. His dedication to service extended beyond the frontline. For many years, he served as Liaison Officer for the OPP Auxiliary Program, mentoring and guiding the auxiliaries and bridging the gap between community and policing.
Behind the badge is a man of strength, humility, and heart. I am incredibly proud of the person he is not only as an officer, but as a loving husband, a father and grandfather.
