Steven Long has served as an exemplary officer for 22 years, consistently going above and beyond to serve the community. He is known for his dedication, regularly patrolling neighborhoods during his night shifts in Aylmer to ensure residents' garage doors are closed and secured.
His commitment to service extends beyond his local community. He dedicated a year to serving in Ukraine through the RCMP and has since returned twice to personally deliver essential supplies he helped gather. During his time in Ukraine, he developed and implemented a motorcycle safety training program for Ukrainian officers, which continues to be used today. His dedication to training and development was recognized by Ukrainian officers, who expressed deep appreciation for his efforts.
In 2022 and 2023, he collaborated with two other former soldiers—both current serving police officers—to collect and deliver vital supplies to Ukraine. Their efforts were instrumental in providing much-needed support to those affected by the conflict.
