My hero is my dad — a dedicated OPP Canine Officer who retired this June, only to return part‑time because serving his community is simply who he is. He has always loved his job, not for recognition, but because helping people — especially those who need it most — is what drives him every single day.
Throughout his career, he consistently went above and beyond, putting compassion, courage, and integrity at the center of everything he did. Whether working alongside his canine partner or mentoring others in the force, he led by example: steady, selfless, and an unwavering commitment to keeping others safe.
Beyond the uniform, he’s the best man I know. His kindness, strength, and humility inspire me every day, and I’m incredibly proud of the person he is — both on duty and off. My dad is my hero not just because of what he’s done, but because of who he is.
