Randi Crawford - Ontario Provincial Police

Award:
Year:
Service:

A standout example of Officer Crawford's dedication is her role as the lead organizer for our town’s 'Battle of the Badges' charity hockey game. This event, which pits local police against firefighters, has become a hallmark of community spirit under her leadership. We are currently planning our third annual match for 2026.
Most notably, Officer Crawford ensured that all proceeds from the event were donated to charities such as the Ronald Mcdonald House and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, raising significant funds to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Beyond the financial impact, she went the extra mile to make the events inclusive and deeply personal for the community. She helped arrange for a local youth, part of the Make-A-Wish program, to attend as a guest of honour. Seeing the young boy participate in the ceremonial puck drop was a powerful moment that bridged the gap between first responders and the families they serve, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. This initiative not only supported a noble cause but also humanized our local heroes and strengthened the bond of unity within our town and first responders, promoting resilience and unity.

What makes Officer Crawford's contributions even more remarkable is that she has spearheaded these initiatives while navigating her own personal health struggles. Despite facing significant physical challenges that would have led many to step back, she refused to let her commitment to the community waver. She poured her energy into the 'Battle of the Badges' and her daily outreach efforts with a level of grace and determination that inspired everyone around her. Her 'absolute best' is a standard few can match; by showing up for us while facing her own battles, she has become a living example of the very resilience she promotes. She doesn't just talk about strength she embodies it, proving that her dedication to this town is truly heartfelt and selfless.

Whether she is sharing critical safety information through her engaging social media posts or coordinating large-scale initiatives like the Battle of the Badges, she represents the OPP with unmatched professionalism and heart. Randi is not just a representative; she is a leader who ensures that every resident in our community feels seen, heard, and protected. Her personal resilience and wish to continue in her role despite such challenges is a testament to the type of person and police officer she is.
