Sergeant Lindsay Adamson of the Ontario Provincial Police exemplifies the very best of frontline policing. For 17 years, she has served her community with unwavering dedication, inspiring local youth, leading her colleagues with integrity, and devoting herself to life-saving charitable work both on and off duty. She is a deployed peer supporter and cares deeply about her people both physically, and their mental well being.

Frontline policing isn’t just her profession — it’s her calling. She is the first step forward and takes charge, all while showing compassion and empathy with those she serves. Whether she is spending time playing basketball with young people who need positive mentorship and meaningful engagement with police or making a personal visit to check in on a struggling youth, she consistently goes beyond the call of duty. She stays late to ensure her officers are safe, supported, and properly equipped, and that every call for service is handled not only according to policy, but with humanity and care.

Her impact is lasting. She was recently thanked by a former long-time substance user who turned her life around, crediting Lindsay’s unwavering support and respectful, empathetic approach as the strength she needed to change.

As a leader, Sergeant Adamson sets the standard. She is widely respected for her depth of knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to mentorship. She teaches, guides, and advocates for her team, always focused on their growth and success. There is no ego in her leadership — only a genuine desire to see her officers thrive and to serve the public to the highest standard.

Her dedication extends far beyond her shift. She volunteers at a local donation store, often working alongside individuals she has previously assisted through calls for service. She also serves as Vice-President of the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund, a registered charity established in memory of fallen OPP Constable Dave Mounsey. The Fund donates defibrillators in honour of law enforcement, fire, EMS, and military members killed in the line of duty. To date, the organization has donated 242 defibrillators, directly contributing to seven lives saved. Sergeant Adamson has been instrumental in shaping the charity’s direction and impact, even personally leading donation efforts.

Through her leadership, her policing, and her community service, Sergeant Lindsay Adamson saves lives — not only in moments of crisis, but in the steady, everyday work of building trust, offering hope, and strengthening the community she proudly serves.
