I first heard about Officer Kraig Reinhart from my best friend. Recently, my friend's stepfather suffered a cardiac arrest. Officer Reinhart was the first to arrive on the scene. My friend's mother was unable to move her husband or begin CPR. Upon arrival, Officer Reinhart immediately initiated CPR and continued until paramedics took over. Not only did Officer Reinhart assist with life-saving efforts, but he also stayed with her mother, offering support while paramedics tended to her stepfather. Recognizing that her mother was too distraught to drive, he personally drove her to the hospital and stayed by her side, helping her navigate the process there. Throughout the ordeal, Officer Reinhart ensured that everyone was cared for, showing remarkable compassion and going far beyond the call of duty. Her stepfather likely wouldn’t be alive today if it weren’t for Officer Reinhart’s swift actions. My friend was eager to personally thank the officer who had done so much for her family. As an employee of the Niagara Region Police Association, I was able to make some calls and confirm his name. It’s not often that officers receive the recognition they deserve, but in this case, my friend and her family wanted to ensure Officer Reinhart knew just how deeply grateful they were for his dedication, kindness, and life-saving efforts.
