We first met Officer Faubert when our Voices of Porcupine Community Group organized a Meet & Greet in the park to welcome our new Chief of Police, Chief Lecky. Officer Faubert accompanied Chief Lecky and took the time to answer questions from seniors and community members alike. He was approachable, patient, and genuinely engaged with everyone in attendance.

Following this event, our group approached both Officer Faubert and Chief Lecky about organizing a large community event focused on educating residents about important issues such as drugs, addictions, bullying, racism, and more. Our first Boats, Bikes, Mics and Lights Educational Fun Fair was an overwhelming success. Officer Faubert led all of the children’s activities and actively participated in the games, which made a lasting impression on families and community members. He brought energy, warmth, and a sense of fun to the day. One young boy was so inspired that he followed Officer Faubert around for the entire event — perhaps a future police officer in the making. Due to the success of this event, we have committed to hosting a second Educational Fun Fair in August 2026.

Officer Faubert is an exceptional community role model who is widely respected and admired. He is kind, friendly, calm, and a genuine people person. He represents exactly what our community hopes to see in its police service and neighborhoods. We strongly believe he is an ideal nominee for this award.

The City of Timmins is currently facing serious challenges, including mental health crises, drug-related issues, and an increase in gun-related incidents unlike anything we have experienced before. Having dedicated officers like Officer Faubert serving our community gives residents hope and peace of mind. He is deeply cared for by people across the city, and his commitment to the well-being of all community members is evident in everything he does.

Officer Faubert is also often seen wearing a Moose Hide Campaign pin, demonstrating his awareness of and commitment to addressing the violence and dangers faced by Indigenous women. There are numerous news articles highlighting the positive and impactful work he continues to do in our community. Officer Faubert is an officer of integrity and compassion, and an outstanding community role model. We sincerely thank him for his dedication and service to the City of Timmins and strongly believe he is deserving of this award.
