It’s difficult to choose the right nomination category for Gary because he excels in his job and makes a real difference in our city. He is not only an outstanding professional but also a dedicated community leader.

For the past eight years, Gary has served on the Board of Directors for the not-for-profit Dad Club London, making a tremendous impact. Over that time, he has held various leadership roles, including Vice President—an uncontested and unanimous appointment. His leadership in fundraising has been exceptional, helping raise over $200,000 in cash and support for London and area families. He has also been instrumental in organizing initiatives such as feeding the homeless and local park clean-ups, always encouraging his family and friends to participate. At a recent Feed the Homeless campaign, he brought his son’s hockey team along, believing it was important for them to witness the need in their community and learn the value of giving back.

Gary’s generosity and commitment to his community go beyond fundraising. When a young boy was bullied and had his Nerf toys stolen, Gary stepped up, spearheading a campaign to replace them. He raised enough funds to purchase every Nerf toy available at Toys "R" Us, personally delivering them to the child—a powerful act of kindness that inspired many, including my own children.

In addition to his work with Dad Club London, Gary serves on the Board of Directors for London & Middlesex Community Housing (LMCH). LMCH's Board consists of dedicated local business and community leaders who volunteer their time to strengthen our communities. Through a governance model, they set the organization's strategic direction and oversee operations, managing all publicly owned rent-geared-to-income housing in London & Middlesex.

Professionally, Gary has made significant contributions in the areas of homicide investigations and human trafficking—both demanding roles that require unwavering dedication. His passion for justice has had a lasting impact on our community.

Having known Gary for the past eight years, I have seen firsthand how his passion and leadership inspire those around him. He is humble, never seeking recognition, but his accomplishments and dedication deserve to be celebrated. I am proud to have him as a board member and a friend.
