Constable Feisal Bila-Hussein, now in his 6th year with the Ottawa Police Service, was in his 2nd year on the job when he received an urgent distress call about a man violently attacking a family inside their home - a mother and her two daughters. Upon arriving at the scene, he found the suspect assaulting one of the women, while two other women were fatally wounded - both succumbing to their injuries on scene. Without hesitation, Constable Bila-Hussein was the first on scene at this tragic incident and tackled the dangerous situation head-on. His bravery and swift action in discharging his firearm to stop the threat as the subject continued to stab the third victim, followed by his immediate efforts to administer life-saving CPR to the victim(s), demonstrated immense courage and professionalism. The third victim of this incident was rushed to hospital where she survived from her injuries during this tragic event.

What truly sets Constable Bila-Hussein apart is not just his heroic response that day, but the way he continues to serve his community. Day in and day out, he patrols the streets of Ottawa, fully committed to protecting and serving, always ready to put himself in harm's way for the safety of others.
