Devon Archer - Ottawa Police Service

Through engagement in sports, recreation, and mentorship Sergeant Archer, of the Neighbourhood Resource Team, has created opportunities for newcomers and developed programs that keep youth active and away from trouble. Searching for a way to keep kids engaged while having to be on their own during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sergeant Archer spearheaded the resurgence of a literary program called Grow a Writer. Enlisting the help of a friend and local publisher, he helped 30 kids get to say they are published authors.
