I was suffering a mental health crisis, and Officer Hebner of the Petawawa OPP Detachment was very kind, compassionate and caring about my mental state. He assured me he would be there to support me, took me to the hospital to seek mental health support and stayed with me during this time.
Officer Hebner has supported me even after the incident by following up, checking on my current state and helping me find therapy treatment.
His kind and compassionate ways are to be commended in a situation that could have been bad. He was able to help me calm down and provide me with the support I needed to get through a dark time of my life.
It’s rare to find an officer that would check in and make sure you are ok. Let alone show compassion to someone that was acting in the manner I was.
His calm demeanour and kindness truly deserves recognition. Thank you Derek.
