I would like to formally recognize and commend Officer David Engelberg for his actions while off duty.
While travelling near an overpass, Officer Engelberg observed an individual sitting on the guardrail of the overpass with their legs positioned on either side, creating an immediate and significant risk to their safety. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Officer Engelberg stopped and intervened. Despite being off duty, Officer Engelberg did not hesitate to take action. He remained with the individual, engaging with them and working to stabilize the situation until on-duty officers could attend.
His calm demeanor, professionalism, and willingness to intervene demonstrated a strong commitment to the well-being of a vulnerable member of the community.
