Constable Danielle Zapfe is truly a community role model. Starting her career as a social worker, before transitioning to a police officer, she has always dedicated herself to helping those in her community. She always gives back and uses her past experiences to make the community better.
Serving on the Community Outreach and Support Team in London, her passion for helping some of our most vulnerable is both commendable and admirable as she strives day in and day out to make their lives better by responding to mental health calls and diverting those calls from local hospitals. Her service on this team is helping to make difference. She has also been able to use this program to educate others in health care and the local community about the benefits of supporting those suffering from mental health and/or addiction-related calls through hospital diversion.
In her spare time, Danielle strives to make healthy lifestyle choices and routinely shares those choices with her close friends to help inspire them to make similar choices. She can also be found helping to give back through volunteer roles like Love My Neighbour at Bethel Strathroy, or helping impact the youth of our community at the local youth group.
In March of 2020, Danielle went on a mission trip to South Africa, where she served the community there through logistical support and practical tasks.
Danielle is always putting others ahead of herself. She is my role model - and my friend. I truly believe she is deserving of this award.
