Service:

I am pleased to nominate Constable Christopher Carreiro for the Community Role Model Award. Constable Carreiro serves as a frontline officer with Peel Regional Police at 12 Division in Mississauga and has been a dedicated member of the service for nearly three years. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated an exceptional and ongoing commitment to community well-being. He consistently balances his professional duties, personal life, and extensive volunteer work while exemplifying the core values of Peel Regional Police both in and out of uniform.

Since 2017, Constable Carreiro has volunteered with the Meadowvale Minor Hockey Association as a head coach, dedicating more than 250 hours each year to coaching children born in 2014. Coaching at the select level demands leadership, mentorship, and reliability—qualities he consistently brings to the role.

He regularly represents Peel Regional Police at community events, both while on duty and in his personal time, engaging with residents and serving as a positive influence to youth. In 2025, he participated in a number of initiatives, including the Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board Soccer Tournament and the Meadowvale Hockey Ice Puppy Fundraiser and Pancake Breakfast, where he organized volunteers and coordinated food service to raise funds for the hockey club.

His school involvement is equally impactful. He has volunteered his time at St. John of the Cross Elementary School as the junior boys’ volleyball coach and the trainer for the junior boys’ basketball team, attending all practices and competitions to support student athletes.

Since 2023, he has donated his time as a trainer and coach with the Erin Mills Soccer Club, working with boys and girls born between 2014 and 2018.

Constable Carreiro also founded the Meadowvale Fitness Program, a free training initiative held at the Peel Police gym. This program provides monthly fitness sessions for youth hockey players, offering positive mentorship opportunities while supporting the development of future community leaders. As with many of his initiatives, he actively encourages and coordinates participation from his platoon colleagues to strengthen community relationships and enhance police visibility in supportive, meaningful ways.

Constable Carreiro’s longstanding dedication to youth development, community engagement, and positive police representation makes him an outstanding candidate for the Community Role Model Award. His contributions extend far beyond his professional responsibilities and reflect a genuine commitment to service, leadership, and community-building.

I wholeheartedly believe he is deserving of this recognition.
