In the early morning in July, Sergeant Chris Hart responded to an urgent domestic violence incident at a residence in Greater Sudbury. A victim had escaped her home after being violently attacked. Responding officers arrived within minutes, provided aid, and established containment of the residence. Two young children were still inside, visibly distressed, and it was unknown whether the suspect remained in the home.
With decisive leadership, Sergeant Hart organized an immediate entry to ensure the children’s safety. Officers moved through the residence methodically, locating and removing each child while maintaining protective cover. The victims were safely transported from the scene within minutes due to the coordinated efforts of the team.
Later, the suspect was located nearby and arrested. The swift, courageous actions and leadership of Sergeant Hart prevented further harm and ensured the safe rescue of the victim and her children during an extremely dangerous incident.
