Brooke has been an incredible role model for our sons. We first met her when she was a road officer, and since then, she has taken on roles in homicide in Caledon and human trafficking. She later moved to HQ, working with a large team of civilians, and is now involved in special projects. Along the way, she has taken on an incredible amount of other important work.
Few people talk about what it truly takes to be an outstanding officer while carrying oneself with such poise. Brooke does just that. She is also an amazing mother of two—her son plays in the OHL, and her wonderful daughter is both a hockey player and a grade school student. Despite her demanding career, she is always devoted to her family, and it is clear how much they adore her. You can feel the love.
Some of the difficult situations Brooke has handled were unknown to us until we connected the dots. She never speaks about her work, but her close colleagues in the OPP hold her in the highest regard for her dedication and professionalism.
I have no doubt that Brooke has worked with many families during homicide investigations, always showing compassion and a victim-first approach while recognizing that we are all human. Some cases involve mistakes, while others are horrifying crimes—things none of us ever want to imagine. Yet, she approaches every situation with the right balance of empathy and strength.
Brooke is a fantastic role model for all ages, and, best of all, she has a great sense of humor.
Officers like Brooke can sometimes be overlooked in the shuffle, but she truly does it all. Whether working on the street, solving crimes, investigating human trafficking, handling homicides, or leading civilian teams, she is exceptional at her craft.
