I am proud to nominate Bob for his long-standing commitment to MADD Durham Region and the community we serve. For many years, he has been a passionate champion of MADD’s mission and remains deeply involved in advancing its work.
As a volunteer with MADD Durham Region, I have had the privilege of working alongside Sgt. Baumgartner for the past six years on the RIDE line in Durham Region. Together, we educate drivers about the dangers of impaired driving and work to keep our roads safe. Through his dedication and leadership, he has helped remove countless impaired drivers from the road—actions that have undoubtedly saved lives.
I lost my twin brother to a drunk driver on November 19, 2018. Since then, I have dedicated my life to ensuring that those taken from us still have a voice. Bob has been a true champion of those voices. He understands the profound impact impaired driving has on families and consistently stands in support of victims and survivors.
In addition to his frontline efforts, he serves on the board as Director of Police and Community Relations with MADD Durham Region, further strengthening the partnership between law enforcement and the community.
It is truly my honor to nominate this outstanding officer for his unwavering dedication, compassion, and service.
