Police Association of Ontario’s Fifth Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $10,000 to Honour Fallen Officers and Support Their Families.
Mono, Ontario, June 22, 2026 — The Police Association of Ontario (PAO) proudly announces that its Fifth Annual Charity Golf Tournament raised $10,000 to support organizations dedicated to honouring police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and assisting their families in times of need
Coinciding with PTSD Awareness Month, this year’s tournament reinforced the PAO’s ongoing commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and ensuring vital resources remain accessible to officers and their loved ones. The event provided a heartfelt opportunity for the policing community to come together, recognize the challenges of service, and pay tribute to those lost in, or because of the line of duty.
“Our annual golf tournament is more than just a day of sport; it’s a powerful moment of solidarity where we highlight the importance of mental wellness within our ranks and honour the memory of our fallen colleagues,” said Mark Baxter, President of the PAO. “By supporting these vital organizations, we are reaffirming our dedication to the well-being of Ontario’s policing families.”
Held at Hockley Valley Resort in Mono, the tournament brought together members of police associations, community leaders, and other stakeholders. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Canada Beyond the Blue and the Ontario Police Memorial Foundation—two organizations committed to providing essential support, education, and remembrance for police personnel and their families across Ontario.
“As PTSD Awareness Day approaches (Saturday, June 27, 2026), we are reminded of the immense pressures faced by police officers and the critical importance of accessible mental health support. By fostering open dialogue and sharing experiences, we continue to build a culture that values both mental and physical well-being. We also bear the responsibility of honouring those whose names are memorialized, ensuring their families are never forgotten by our community,” Baxter added.
