Provincial Constable Tarun Bali, of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) - Dufferin County Detachment in the Central Region, died in the line of duty on June 9, 2026, while serving with the James Bay Detachment in the North East Region. An OPP officer of 2.5 years, Cst. Bali dedicated his life to serving others and protecting our communities. His sudden death is deeply mourned across the policing community, throughout Ontario, and beyond. His courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to be honoured.
