How to Join the CSPA Summit Waitlist:

To join the Summit waitlist, please visit the event registration site. If a spot becomes available due to a cancellation, a team member will contact individuals on the waitlist in the order they signed up. Each person will have 24 hours to accept the offer and finalize their registration. If the offer is not accepted within this timeframe, we will proceed to the next individual on the list. It’s important to note that the  waitlist applies to both the main and overflow rooms.

Virtual Attendance Option:

There will not be a live virtual attendance option for either of these events. The two ways to participate in the CSPA Summit will be:

  • Attend in person in the main room overflow room (waitlist only)
  • Purchase and view a recording after the Summit

Program Highlights

Employment Conference: The PAO’s annual Employment Conference has been restructured into a one-day event, preceding the CSPA Summit, on Monday, February 26, 2024. Topics to be covered include:

  • Collective Bargaining
  • Focus on Harassment and Discrimination
  • Building Meaningful Inclusion
  • Police Discipline
  • Legal Updates

CSPA Summit: This summit will focus on major changes in the policing framework, bringing together associations, boards, and police chiefs. Industry experts will present on various topics to foster a collective understanding of the CSPA, with special attention to its impact on police services of different sizes. Topics to be covered include:

  • Adequate and Effective Policing
  • Responsibilities of Boards and Chiefs
  • First Nations Policing
  • Special Constables
  • Inspector General of Policing
  • Complaints and Misconduct Investigations
  • Discipline, Suspension, and Independent Adjudication
  • Labour Relations
  • The Role of the Minister

Event Cancellation and Registration Change Policy

  • Cancellation Policy: Registrants may cancel attendance by emailing with their cancellation request. Cancellations received fourteen (14) or more calendar days before the first day of the event will be eligible for a refund, less an administration fee of $100. After this date, registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds will be processed within five (5) business days of receiving the request and will be issued to the original payment method.
  • Substitution Policy: Substitutions of attendees are permitted at any time for no additional charge. To substitute a colleague for your registration, please provide their name, title, and contact information to
  • Registration Type Change Policy: Once registered, attendees are unable to change their registration ticket type, such as transferring an Employment Conference ticket to the Summit or vice versa. This policy is in place to ensure fair access and facilitate effective planning for all participants.
