Registration is OPEN for the inaugural PAO Charity Golf Tournament being held at Royal Ontario Golf Club in Milton, ON on Thursday, June 25, 2020 with a shotgun start @ 9:00AM.
Funds raised by the tournament will donated to Boots on the Ground and Wounded Warriors Canada’s PTSD Service Dog Program in Ontario in order to support our members who are in need of these services, along with all first responders across the province.
- Boots on the Ground is a group of dedicated, retired and serving first responders who work together to provide anonymous, caring and compassionate peer support that is available 24/7. All team members have peer support and suicide prevention training.
- Wounded Warriors Canada – PTSD Service Dog Program supports the pairing of approximately 100 service dogs annually. Early clinical evidence has indicated that properly trained PTSD service dogs have life changing and life saving impacts on individuals they are matched with.
This tournament purposefully coincides closely with Ontario’s 2nd Annual PTSD Awareness Day (June 27, 2020). Many research studies have shown that first responders have a much greater risk of suffering from mental health issues, including operational stress injuries such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as a result of their exposure to traumatic incidents. Funding for support services such as Boots on the Ground and Wounded Warriors Canada is crucial to ensuring Ontario’s sworn and civilian police personnel, along with all first responders across the province, are able to access to these programs if and when they need them.
We anticipate tournament participants will include PAO member association executives from across Ontario, front-line uniform and civilian police personnel, corporate leaders and elected officials.
Register now to reserve your spots! Your registration includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf with cart, post-golf reception & lunch, the potential to win some fantastic prizes, and much more! If you’re unable to make the entire day, you may also register to attend just the post-golf reception & lunch. The online registration form also allows you to become a hole sponsor for the tournament.
Speaking of sponsorship, we have a variety of ways you can help these two organizations provide vital service and support to our police personnel members and Ontario’s first responders.
A full outline of the tournament’s sponsorship opportunities is available for download. You may purchase a hole sponsorship using the online registration form.
